Mackinaw Island Honor Scout
For those new to this program, please review the attached brochure to gain a better understanding of Mackinac Island Honor Scouts. If you would like copies of this brochure, please let me know how many you would like and I will bring/mail you copies. Also attached are electronic copies of the two applications: one is for new girls interested in being a part of the program and the second is for returning Honor Scouts who would like to become active in the program’s leadership.
Leadership applications are due on 9/30/08 and new girl applications are due on 10/31/08 – applications MUST be postmarked by those dates to be accepted.
In previous years, when we were separate councils, we divided the available spots by each council. Since we are a UNITED council, the spots available are open to all girls who are members of Shore to Shore. For the girls from Mitten Bay’s legacy, our troop #147, is a new opportunity for them, but for many girls from Crooked Tree, Pine & Dunes, and Michigan Trails, this is a continued program option. This year, we have fifteen open positions for new Honor Scouts – much higher than in years past. J
Please promote the opportunity to apply for Mackinac Island Honor Scouts at your service unit meetings and let me know if I can be of service to you, your leaders or the girls from your service units.
